    USC Marshall Department Chairs

    The USC Marshall Department Chairs lead the development of the department and the faculty. They represent the department to the School, USC, and broader academic and research communities. They support faculty recruitment, tenure and promotions, courses and scheduling, and committee and mentoring assignments, amongst other responsibilities.

    Andy Call

    Andy Call is Dean of the Leventhal School of Accounting and the Alan Casden Dean’s Chair at the University of Southern California. Professor Call’s research focuses on the activities of Wall Street analysts and their impact on the capital markets, managers’ forward-looking earnings guidance, the role of the media in disseminating accounting information, and the involvement of employee whistleblowers in the discovery of financial misreporting. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, and Review of Accounting Studies, and has been featured in many prominent media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg, CFO Magazine, The Motley Fool, and CNBC. Professor Call currently serves as an editor at The Accounting Review, has taught financial reporting topics to both undergraduate and graduate students, and has received numerous teaching and research awards.

    Elissa's research concerns social networks in new venturing – encompassing network development for startup resource acquisition and crowdfunding. Her work has been published in journals including Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. Before joining USC, Elissa was on the faculties of Loyola Marymount University and Baruch College.

  • Christopher S. Jones

    • Professor of Finance and Business Economics

    Christopher Jones conducts research on empirical asset pricing and financial econometrics. He is an expert on option pricing and volatility modeling and also conducts research on the term structure, mutual fund performance, and stock return predictability. He has published in the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial Economics. He currently serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Finance. Before coming to USC, Professor Jones was on the faculty at the University of Rochester.

    • Professor of Data Sciences and Operations

    Jinchi Lv is Kenneth King Stonier Chair in Business Administration and Professor in Data Sciences and Operations Department at USC Marshall, and Professor of Mathematics at USC. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2007. He is the recipient of the Royal Statistical Society Guy Medal in Bronze and was McAlister Associate Professor in Business Administration at USC. His research interests include statistics, machine learning, data science, business applications, and artificial intelligence and blockchain. His papers have been published in journals in statistics, economics, business, computer science, information theory, neuroscience, and biology.

    Kyle Mayer studies how firms govern relationships with other firms, with particular attention to the contract and its role in establishing a framework for the relationship. His research has been published in Organizational Science, Academy of Management Journal, Management Science, and Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization. He served on the editorial board of Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Review, and Strategic Management Journal. He received a Golden Apple Award in 2003, Marshall's Educator of the Year Award in 2006, and a Mellon Mentoring Award from USC in 2006.

  • Sivaramakrishnan Siddarth

    Sivaramakrishnan Siddarth

    • Professor of Marketing

    Sivaramakrishnan Siddarth is an expert in the development and use of response models to understand consumer and market behavior. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Management Science, and Marketing Science among others. Professor Siddarth currently serves on the editorial board of Marketing Letters. He is a recipient of the O’Dell outstanding paper award from the Journal of Marketing Research, the USC Mellon Award for excellence in mentoring graduate students, the Evan C. Thompson Faculty Teaching and Learning Innovation Award, and several Golden Apple teaching awards.
