Data Sciences and Operations

Cosimo Arnesano had a study accepted for presentation at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) 2025 titled “Trends in Teleophthalmology Utilization among Medicare Beneficiaries from 2010–2023.”

Jacob Bien had a paper accepted by Journal of the American Statistical Association titled, “Inference on the proportion of variance explained in principal component analysis.”

Vishal Gupta was invited to be a keynote speaker at Freightos’ upcoming FreightTech 2025 conference in Barcelona.

Adel Javanmard was selected for the 2025–2026 Marshall Leadership Fellows Program.

Bowen Lou had a paper accepted by Information Systems Research titled, “Artificial Intelligence, CEO Turnover, and Exploration Orientation in Firm Innovation.”

Milan Miric was named the Hi-Paris International Research Chair as part of an initiative by the Paris University Cluster to host AI researchers.

Gourab Mukherjee had a paper accepted by Statistica Sinica titled, “Empirical Bayes Estimation with Side Information: A Nonparametric Integrative Tweedie Approach.”

Gourab Mukherjee also had a paper accepted to the Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics titled, “Predictive Inference in Linear Mixed Models.”

Georgios Petropoulos was awarded the Accenture AI and the Future of Work Research Fellowship based on a research proposal to study how AI agents will affect pricing models in tech-forward service markets.

Georgios Petropoulos was invited by the Senate of Chile to present his research at the 15th edition of Congreso Futuro, one of the largest scientific forums in the world.

Greys Sošić and Nick Vyas had a business case accepted by SAGE Business Cases titled, “Traceability: The Hidden Key to True Sustainability.”

Management and Organization

Christian Busch’s paper titled, “Towards a Theory of Serendipity: A Systematic Review and Conceptualization” was awarded the Journal of Management Studies’ Best Paper of 2024 Award.

Peer Fiss and Marshall phd graduate Enlan Wang had a paper accepted by the Strategic Management Journal titled, “An Inhabited View of Category Strategy.”

Peer Fiss was recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer for the Strategic Management Division at the 2025 AOM Annual Meeting.
