Data Sciences and Operations
Lorena Martin was invited to serve as an associate editor (AE) for Journal of Sports Analytics.
Nick Vyas recently published his case study, "COVID-19’s Impact on the Global Meatpacking Industry and the Role of Technology."
Mladen Kolar’s paper, “High-Dimensional Differential Parameter Inference in Exponential Family using Time Score Matching,” was accepted by the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS).
Vishal Gupta’s paper, “Beyond Discretization: Learning the Optimal Solution Path,” was accepted by the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS).
Marketing
Gerard J. Tellis won the AMA TechSig Lifetime Achievement Award for Contributions to Technology & Innovation at the Winter Educators Conference on February 15 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kristin Diehl won an outstanding reviewer award from the Journal of Consumer Psychology. The award was presented to her at the recently held 2025 SCP Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Evan Weingarten won an outstanding reviewer award from the Journal of Consumer Psychology. The award was presented to him at the recently held 2025 SCP Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Yanhao (Max) Wei received the Marketing Science Service Award for 2024.
Mische’s study on gas prices shows California’s high prices are largely structural, policy-driven, and deeply embedded in how the state regulates, produces, and distributes gasoline.
Mische explains that California's regulatory environment is making it difficult for oil companies to stay, which will likely lead to gas spikes and shortages.
