Zijun Gao had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), titled, “Tightening Causal Bounds via Covariate-Aware Optimal Transport.”

Adel Javanmard had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning, titled, “Integer Programming for Generalized Causal Bootstrap Designs.”

Adel Javanmard had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning, titled, “Causal Inference with Differentially Private (Clustered) Outcomes.”

Adel Javanmard had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning, titled, “Retraining with Predicted Hard Labels Provably Increases Model Accuracy.”

Adel Javanmard had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning, titled, “DeepCrossAttention: Supercharging Transformer Residual Connections.”

Adel Javanmard’s paper “Multi-Task Dynamic Pricing in Credit Market with Contextual Information” was selected as one of the finalists for SIAG/FME Conference Paper Prize.

Matteo Sesia had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning titled, “Doubly Robust Conformalized Survival Analysis with Right-Censored Data.”

Matteo Sesia had a paper accepted by the International Conference on Machine Learning titled, “Robust Conformal Outlier Detection under Contaminated Reference Data.”

Somya Singhvi was chosen for the 2024 Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (M&SOM) Meritorious Service Award.

Finance and Business Economics

John Matsusaka had a paper accepted by the Journal of Politics titled, “When Do Legislators Represent Their Constituents? Evidence from Roll-Call and Referendum Votes.”

John Matsusaka had a paper accepted by the Journal of the European Economic Association titled, “The Common Good and Voter Polarization.”

John Matsusaka had a paper accepted by the Journal of Political Institutions and Political Economy titled, “Direct Democracy Backsliding: 1955-2024.”

John Matsusaka was elected Academic Vice President of the USC Academic Senate.

Shantanu Dutta had a paper accepted in the Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship titled, “Effects of Household Characteristics on Low Income Family Businesses: Evidence from India.”

Shantanu Dutta and Somya Singhvi had a paper accepted in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management titled, “Buying Cheap: Brand Switching During Economic Distress and its Disparate Impact on Consumers.”
