The Program

Strategic Analysis for Competitive Advantage is the art and the science of formulating, defining, implementing and evaluating policies and decisions that will assist an organization in achieving its goals and objectives. It is an ongoing process that assesses and evaluates the business and industry in which the organization operates. Rapidly changing environments create opportunities for growth, but also pose challenges that firms must be prepared to overcome.

This program will present the core areas of business strategy and develop skills for making strategic decisions and translating those decisions into real-world implementation. Participants will complete the program with an enhanced understanding of how to make revenue-generating decisions that lead to long term achievement and value creation.

Kyle Mayer is Associate Professor of Strategy in the Department of Management and Organizations at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. Dr. Mayer teaches in the university's MBA and Ph.D. programs as well as with a variety of executive audiences. Dr. Mayer has taught, and often led, execuctive programs in many industries including, but not limited to, aerospace, finance, software, biotechnology, information technology, and healthcare. His teaching capabilities have been recognized with two Golden Apple teaching awards (2003 and 2011) and a variety of other teaching awards including Marshall's Educator of the Year Award in 2006.

Dr. Mayer is also an active researcher in the field of strategy and his work has been published in Organizational Science, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Management Science, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization and other outlets.

Dr. Mayer completed his Ph.D. in Business and Public Policy in 1999 from the University of California, Berkeley after working for several years in Silicon Valley.

CEU Credits

You will earn 1.5 CEU credits taking this ONLINE course. A continuing education unit (CEU) is a measure used in continuing education programs, particularly those required in a licensed profession for the professional to maintain the license. A CEU unit of credit equals to 10 hours of participation in the accredited program designed for professionals with certificates or licenses to practice various professions.
