Assistant Professor of Data Science and Operations SOMYA SINGHVI won the MS&SOM Practice-Based Research Competition for his PAPER: “Improving Farmers’ Income on Online Agr-platforms: Evidence from the Field.” The competition is meant to encourage research with practical application in the operations management field, and Singhvi’s work more than qualified.

For this paper, Singhvi worked closely with the state government in Karnataka, India, to test the capabilities of their online agri-platform, the United Market Platform (UMP). Beyond agriculture, Singhvi’s research spans health care supply chains, ed-tech platforms, and emerging Asian markets.
