Mark F. Lucas is the Senior Associate Director in Graduate Career Services charged with leading his team in career strategy, coaching, and advising of all graduate business programs for executives and working professionals including MBA.PM, Executive MBA, 1-year IBEAR MBA, Online MBA, and the MS in Social Entrepreneurship. He is the primary career strategist for MBA.PM students.
Mark joined us in 2019 from Loyola Marymount University's College of Business Administration, where he was Director of the Office of Graduate Career Management, spearheading all aspects of career services for MBAs, EMBAs, and specialty master's degree programs for over five years. He also was adjunct faculty, teaching undergraduate classes in Finance and Business Ethics. Furthermore, he led a boutique consulting practice advising firms such as McKinsey & Co., Boston Consulting Group, and Fortune 100 companies in the USA, Japan, and South Korea, among many others.
Previously, Mark spent over 15 years in the Corporate Planning Division of Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc; most notably during that time, he oversaw strategic planning & research for Lexus, its automotive competitors, and the luxury/affluent market overall. Before that, he worked at Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) doing M&A and major project valuation. He also has been was a project manager at a boutique consulting firm in Redondo Beach, and served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.
On top of his primary duties at both Toyota and ARCO, he was actively involved in MBA recruiting, having reviewed thousands of resumes and interviewed hundreds of candidates from many top-ranked business schools nationwide. For almost ten years, he led all aspects of Toyota's MBA recruiting at USC Marshall.
Mark is a 1997 MBA graduate of the USC Marshall School of Business. He did his undergraduate work at the United States Air Force Academy and California State University, Long Beach, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma national engineering honor societies.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys attending live music performances, wine collecting, and community service. He is proud to serve as the 4th District Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Historical Landmarks and Records Commission.
