Accounting Student Organizations
Leventhal School of Accounting recognizes five student organizations, giving students the opportunity to develop leadership and interpersonal skills and cultivating academic and professional interests.
One of USC's strong links with the business world; providing excellent opportunity for career planning through activities including guest speakers, social events with CPA firms and industry leaders, firm tours and etc.
Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting (ALPFA-USC)
Leading national organization for professionals and students in accounting, business, finance, and related fields. Our chapter offers a wide range of activities throughout the year which includes case competitions, networking events, scholarships, student workshops, community service, professional and student mixers, mentoring programs, internships, and an annual convention.
Beta Alpha Psi (BAP)
An honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals; gain the opportunity to network with professionals from various accounting firms, develop professionally through different panels and workshops, and build a strong network of friends within the accounting and business schools.
Student Honor Council (SHC)
Central purpose is to support the Student Honor Code by promoting academic integrity, ethical behavior, and intellectual honesty within the Leventhal School of Accounting; composed of up to 25 student members who are interviewed and selected by the Oversight Committee.
Accounting students' first and main career resource should be the USC Career Center. They offer career advising appointments and walk-ins, workshops, information sessions, and career fairs. In addition, they oversee connectSC where students can look for internship and job opportunities and participate in on-campus recruiting. We encourage our students to visit the Career Center and take advantage of the many opportunities they provide.
Students in the Leventhal School of Accounting have numerous resources and opportunities available to network and develop the skills needed to successfully secure internships, full-time positions and/or admission to graduate school.
Each semester the Big Four and mid-tier accounting firms, as well as several other companies, come to campus for a networking event called Meet the Firms. Recruiters from each of these firms bring around 20 staff members (usually alumni), giving students the opportunity to ask questions and learn about what it's really like to work in accounting. This evening event takes place at the California Science Center, and the required attire is business professional.
