Online Marshall MBA Career Services support the program’s primary goal of developing students into leaders ready to succeed in the global marketplace. Services are available to learners at every stage of their Marshall School of Business education and beyond.
Marshall employs an individualized, consultative approach, understanding that our students have unique professional backgrounds, life circumstances, and career goals. We blend a range of residential program and online career resources to support our OMBA learners.
One-on-One Career Advising
Students benefit from the professional services of a private career consultant dedicated exclusively to OMBA. She has more than 25 years of experience in the field, working with MBA students, mid-career professionals and senior executives. She has an extensive and impressive network and is adept at helping students crystallize their goals, focus their efforts, and leverage their education, experience, and contacts.
The initial consultation begins with the advisor getting to know and working with students to clearly define their ideal career trajectory. In subsequent sessions, she engages learners in a customized course of action targeted at specific career opportunities. Students schedule one-on-one coaching with the OMBA advisor, as needed, via phone or email.
Program Director Resume and Cover Letter Reviews
Supplemental advising services are available to students from OMBA Program Director Miriam Burgos. Burgos served as a member of the recruitment team for a multinational corporation and has first-hand knowledge of what hiring managers look for in resumes and covers letters. She is available by appointment to work individually with students.
Marshall Alumni Association (MAA)
Membership into MAA is automatically granted upon graduation to all undergraduate and graduate degree-holders of the USC Marshall School of Business and USC Leventhal School of Accounting – more than 88,000 alumni around the world. Association leaders have cultivated broad professional networks in Southern California and beyond and are eager to bring OMBA graduates into the fold.
The Association organizes and sponsors a range of in-person networking and educational events and is planning online events including virtual job fairs. OMBA students also have access to The Network, MAA’s exclusive online community. The Network provides a robust calendar of events, interactive networking features, peer directories, news, and more to keep community members connected in dynamic ways.
The MBA Exchange
OMBA students can gain complete access to the popular MBA Exchange job posting website by registering as USC Marshall School of Business MBA students.
Career Services Updates
OMBA administrators provide students with Career Services updates as they occur. We continually look to expand these services to enhance the OMBA experience and meet the evolving requirements of both students and employers.
