The GameStop short squeeze by small retail investors has dominated headlines recently. USC Marshall Fred V. Keenan Chair in Finance and Professor of Finance and Business Economics Larry Harris had some strong thoughts about the episode.

Harris, a former SEC chief economist who also wrote the seminal textbook Trading and Exchanges, moderated a webinar panel of experts Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021.

The webinar, “The GameStop Short Squeeze and Its Risks to Our Economy,” convened financial experts from academia and industry, including:
