1.3 Exhibit awareness of ethical dimensions and professional standards in decision-making.

MMS ACADEMIC OVERVIEW

The Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.) is designed to provide those who have already completed the equivalent of the first year of an accredited traditional 2-year M.B.A. (see Admissions Prerequisites for details) with an opportunity to pursue further study in coursework available to Marshall graduate students.

Students compete at least 26 units of coursework from the full range of graduate electives available to Marshall M.B.A. students, subject to prerequisite requirements. No more than two courses (or eight units) may be taken in graduate course work outside of the Marshall School of Business. Access the USC SCHEDULE OF CLASSES for recent, current, and future class schedules.

Applicant’s M.B.A. coursework is reviewed at time of admission to determine if specific content areas are missing. If it is determined that preliminary courses are needed - and are available at USC Marshall - the number of units required to complete the M.M.S. degree will increase.

The M.M.S. degree is intended to provide individuals with an opportunity to expand their knowledge base in areas not covered during their prior studies. Therefore, no coursework completed prior to matriculation in the M.M.S. program can be applied toward the Master of Management Studies. USC M.B.A. students may not pursue both degrees simultaneously or apply M.B.A. coursework to the M.M.S.

Partnership Program with KAIST, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Sogang Business School

The Marshall School of Business maintains partner relationships with KAIST, Sogang Business School, and with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry. KAIST Techno M.B.A., KAIST IMBA, and Sogang SIMBA, and SJTU ICCI students and alumni are exempt from a number of admissions requirements.

Admissions: Under the partnership agreements, applicants are not required to have work experience or to submit GMAT or GRE test scores. Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores) is required of all non-US citizens who did not spend 4-years completing a bachelor’s degree at an American, British, Canadian or Australian college or university.

Curriculum: Students from partner institutions are not exempt from course prerequisite requirements. Prerequisite waivers will be issued upon confirmation that coursework equivalent to prerequisites has been completed. Sogang students must successfully complete a graduate-level business communication skills course prior to enrollment at USC or take an appropriate equivalent during their first semester at USC Marshall (in addition to the degree requirements). Partner students may apply to the M.M.S. up to 12 units of business-related non-Marshall coursework from other USC programs, subject to approval by the M.M.S. program director.
