Tony Marino is an economist who specializes in organizational economics and the economics of regulation. He has published articles on dynamic macroeconomics, public utility regulation, conservation, product liability, safety regulation, managerial contracting, and organizational theory, in the Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, RAND Journal of Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. Professor Marino served as Chair of the Department of Finance and Business Economics from 1997 to 2000 and from 2011 to 2017. Before joining USC, he was a faculty member at the University of Kansas, and he has held visiting appointments at UC-Santa Barbara and Gothenburg University.
Anne Ziemniak is a seasoned higher education administration professional and currently serves as Assistant Dean, External Relations. Anne is responsible for leading advancement strategy in the areas of stewardship and donor relations, donor communications, alumni relations, and all aspects of advancement operations to foster connection, engagement, and a philanthropic mindset among constituents that supports the mission, goals, and priorities of USC Marshall and USC Leventhal. Prior to her current role, she served in several student affairs leadership positions at Marshall including in the Full-Time MBA Program and Undergraduate Programs.
Alireza Kabirian is a supply chain management professional, consultant, and educator. He has extensive experience in global trade, having led a company in trading heavy equipment worldwide. Before joining USC Marshall, Dr. Kabirian held academic positions at UCLA's Anderson School of Management, Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management, California State University-Northridge, and the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Dr. Kabirian earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering-Operations Research from Iowa State University. His research focuses on simulation optimization and supply chain management, with numerous publications in top journals and presentations at international conferences.
Recognized for his excellence in teaching, Dr.Kabirian has received multiple awards. He teaches courses on Operations and Supply Chain Management, Sourcing and Procurement, Six Sigma, and Business Analytics.
Freshman
Altagracia Alvarez is the Associate Director of Alumni Relations for the USC Marshall School of Business and the USC Leventhal School of Accounting Alumni Association. She joined USC Marshall in the summer of 2013 as a Data Analyst. Currently, Altagracia is responsible for Graduate Program Reunion Weekend and leads student engagement with clubs/organizations as well as onboarding students to the alumni community. Altagracia will also be leading the expansion of lifelong learning and alumni career engagement. In addition, Altagracia, works on planning alumni focused events and prioritizing the Dean’s focus on increasing alumni engagement both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining the Trojan family, Altagracia was with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles where she oversaw the annual fund process and helped develop and create a donor acknowledgment process. Altagracia is a native Angelino, she grew up in the USC neighborhood and has been a longtime Trojan fan.
Amiah Sheppard is an impact enhancer. Leveraging her experience as a venture capitalist, limited partner, and internationally sought out Pitch Coach, Sheppard currently runs entrepreneurial programming and funding out of USC Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies’ Blackstone LaunchPad.
Arianna Uhalde is a consumer psychologist specializing in consumer-brand relationships and consumer wellbeing. She teaches several classes at Marshall, including Marketing Communication & Promotion Strategy, Consumer Behavior, and a new class she developed called Happiness & Wellbeing in the Marketplace. Since 2019, Arianna has worked closely with USC Athletics, developing projects and programming related to wellbeing, culture, and performance. She has also advised various companies - including Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), MORE Labs, and The Honest Company - on market research strategies and consumer insights.
April is a higher education administrator and culture champion. She has worked in higher education institutions on both coasts including a liberal arts college, a large 2-year system as well as public and private R1 research universities.
