2023 Women’s Pitch Competition Winners Announced

The winners of the fifth annual Women’s Pitch Competition were announced March 2 at the ATHENA Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit.

Jeymi Choi, senior director of founder programs for the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, introduced the teams that had made the semifinals and announced the final winners.

“Our vision is to build this out over the coming years, and to continue helping female entrepreneurs by increasing visibility, providing mentorship, and creating pathways to access seed money for their ventures,” she said.

Winners included:

  • Concept prize - $2,500 – Clownfish (Maanya Kashya and Allison Nakajima). Clownfish is a platform that matches college students looking for freelance opportunities with small businesses.
  • Third place winner - $3000 – Rentforless (Nidyanthy Pratiwi and Saloni Nahar). Rentforless helps address the issues of fast fashion by offering designer clothes for rent in the Indonesian market.
  • Second place winner – $5,000 – FundrGames (Irmak Cavun & Rocco Azblan). Creates a pathway for individual game developers to market and promote their games to a larger audience.
  • First place winner – Helena of Troy Award $10,000– Osem (Sophie Lin and Brian Feng). Osem is a 3D-printing device that will change how scientists develop nano drugs for personalized medicine, cancer, and MRNA vaccines.

This award is named after the late Greif Center director, Helena Yli-Renko, professor of clinical entrepreneurship and a passionate advocate for young women starting their own businesses. The award was presented by members of Yli-Renko’s family.
