What surprised you most about Marshall?
I was surprised most by the sheer breadth of backgrounds among my peers. While I did anticipate variety, I did not expect it to this level. It has been a fantastic part of my experience to hear from others where they came from and what they were doing before coming to the MBA program, and then connecting that story into their future goals. As someone who aims to use this experience to learn more about potential opportunities, I have enjoyed speaking with my classmates and learning about roles and functions I hadn't previously known much (if anything) about.

What do you wish you'd known before attending business school?
Everyone has their own priorities and their own schedules. Make sure to know what yours look like and don't feel pressured to follow someone else's. There is always a ton going on between school, clubs, recruiting, outside life etc. so go with what works best for you.

What leadership positions do you hold at Marshall?
AVP of Career Development for Leadership and Organization Club
AVP of Recruiting for Travel and Hospitality Club

What has been your favorite USC Marshall experience?
My favorite part is all the people. Meeting so many new and diverse people and broadening my perspectives has been such a delight, particularly when working together on projects and seeing where an individual's unique background comes into play.

What is your favorite USC Marshall core class?
Microeconomics for Management. Professor Nix made the class fun and engaging and she was clearly very excited to be teaching this topic. It was a new subject for me, and I could tell how foundational it would be for the rest of my MBA program and beyond.

Which clubs are you involved in?
Travel and Hospitality
Leadership and Organization
Graduate Women in Business
Marshall Net Impact
Marshall Ecommerce and Retail Association
Marshall Wine Club

Core:
C

Why did you choose Marshall?
I chose Marshall because of the emphasis on experiential learning. The team-based approach, the frequent use of case studies, and the hands-on learning in the project class and PRIME were all components that resonated with my preference for learning in an applied context. I was also excited about perfect Southern California weather!
