Angela Ryu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Business of Energy Transition Initiative. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from Columbia Business School and a master's degree in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) from Columbia University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics (with distinction) from the University of Michigan.
Her research focuses on how firms compete as they shape and navigate sociopolitical and regulatory landscapes. She employs computational, empirical, and experimental methods, often leveraging large text datasets to analyze these dynamics. Her current work examines how firms operating data centers, critical for powering AI computation, address sustainability and innovation challenges, with a focus on energy procurement and its implications for AI.
