The program is designed to meet you where you are. Students with an undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent coursework begin in the fall semester (August) and complete the program in two semesters. Students without an accounting background start in the summer (mid-June) with the Summer Intensive Program, building the foundation needed for graduate-level coursework, and complete the program in three semesters. Regardless of start term, all students cross the finish line together — graduating at the end of the spring semester in mid-May.

Total required units range from 30 to 45, depending on your start term and academic preparation.

Job recruiting kicks off at the start of the fall semester, with the primary recruiting season running through the fall. A smaller but equally valuable spring recruiting season follows at the start of the spring semester — giving students multiple opportunities to connect with employers throughout the year. Throughout both seasons, you'll work closely with Leventhal's dedicated career services staff to help you put your best foot forward.

Your accounting/tax career starts here — and it starts strong.

The Summer Intensive Program is a focused 8-week, 15-unit experience running from mid-June to mid-August, designed to give incoming Master of Accounting and Master of Business Taxation students the foundation they need to hit the ground running.

Think of it like your first day of work — times 8 weeks. Most days run from 8:30am to 5:30pm, and the program is intentionally designed as a full-time commitment. Deep immersion is what makes this program work. But you won't be going through it alone. You'll be building real friendships with your classmates from day one — people who will become your study partners, your support system, and your colleagues for years to come.

Who's in the room? Your cohort will include people from every walk of life — recent graduates and career changers. We've welcomed military veterans transitioning to civilian careers, high school teachers ready for a new chapter, small business owners who are ready for a career with more growth and stability, and graduating seniors who decided at the last minute to aim higher. Majors have ranged from Philosophy to Physics, Data Science to Drama. What everyone shares is curiosity, ambition, and the drive to build something lasting.
