USIF 2019 Managers
Emilio Alvarado is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Emilio has been actively involved in the Trojan Real Estate Association and Marshall Real Estate Finance Association. He is also serving his second term on the executive board at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Emilio previously interned at JLL last summer in their Corporate Solutions division and is looking forward to interning at Thorofare Capital, a real estate private debt fund in Los Angeles. A Southern California native, Emilio enjoys swimming, skateboarding, playing guitar, and discovering new restaurants.
William Andreasyan is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, William joined the Value Investing Group in the first semester of his freshman year and had the pleasure of serving as the group’s president last year. His previous professional experience includes an internship with Harris Associates in Chicago as a member of the domestic research team. Prior to that, William worked at Old West Investment Management in Los Angeles. This summer, William is looking forward to joining ValueAct Capital in San Francisco. In his spare time, William enjoys reading and traveling.
Grant Calderone is currently pursuing a triple B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and Bocconi University through the World Bachelor in Business program. As an undergraduate, Grant served as President of Investment Circle at HKUST and as a member of the Markets Team in the Bocconi Students Investment Club. He worked as a Summer Analyst in commodity and currency markets at the Hong Kong investment firm, Emerging Markets Capital. He is looking forward to working this summer in Hong Kong at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Markets division on the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities team. After graduation, he hopes to earn his CFA designation and trade securities in a global city. Originally from Laguna Hills, California, Grant enjoys ocean sports, basketball, and photography.
Michelle Dai is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business. At USC, Michelle co-founded a chapter of Smart Woman Securities, which aims to teach women about finance and investments. Additionally, Michelle is involved in Marshall Business Student Government, Trojan Investing Society, and Scholars Leading Scholars. Michelle is looking forward to interning at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications investment banking group this summer in Palo Alto. She also previously interned at Telos Advisors, a boutique investment bank focused on digital media and internet, and Arrowroot Capital, a growth equity firm focused on software-as-a-service. Originally from Indiana, Michelle enjoys going to modern art exhibits, traveling, hiking, and taking pictures in her free time.
Eugenia Huang is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration, Real Estate Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, she has been involved in student organizations focused on hospitality, real estate, women in business, and service. Additionally, Eugenia has conducted research under both the Department of Finance and Business Economics at Marshall and the Department of Policy Analysis and Real Estate at the Price School of Public Policy, and is a teacher’s assistant in the former. Having developed a passion for real estate from a young age, Eugenia learned how to drive a forklift before getting her driver’s license. Previous work experience includes real estate asset management and developmental due diligence. Originally from Los Gatos, Eugenia enjoys the outdoors, yoga, making smoothies, learning Spanish, and exploring the local food scene with friends.
Clayton Jurkowitz is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Clayton currently serves on the executive board of Lemonade Day, a national initiative teaching entrepreneurship to various elementary schools and middle schools. Clayton is also part of the Trojan Investment Society and the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Clayton has interned with North Castle Partners as a Private Equity Intern and The Riverside Company as an intern in their minority investment division. Clayton enjoys casual pick-up basketball games and is a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan. He also enjoys road trips, spending time outdoors, and all types of dogs.
Lucy Li is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Lucy has been involved in Trojan Investing Society, as Chief Marketing Officer, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity as Vice President of Finance, and WeThrive Mentorship Program, as a mentor. Her work experience ranges from working in commercial banking at Wells Fargo to data analytics at Fit3D, a technology startup. She is looking forward to interning with Rothschild’s Technology M&A team in Palo Alto this summer. In her free time, Lucy enjoys hiking, eclectic reading, salsa-dancing, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
Shery (Zhiying) Liang
Shery (Zhiying) Liang is currently pursuing her B.S. in Business Administration and B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Enterprise Information System (SAP). While at USC, Sherry is an active member of Marshall Case Team. She represented USC Marshall to participate in National University of Singapore and Rotterdam School of Business International Case Competition and won the third prize for Marshall. Sherry plans to pursue a career in the consulting. Originally from China, Sherry has 10-year experience in traditional Chinese Dance. She is also an active member of Traditional Chinese Dance Club in USC.
Claire Lin is currently pursuing her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, she has served as the Vice President of professional development at Ascend USC Chapter, and has been an active member of the Marshall Case Team. She has represented USC in two international competitions. Last semester, Claire interned at a venture capital firm that seeks investment in Fintech startups based in Santa Monica and Silicon Valley. This upcoming summer Claire will join Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Division as a summer intern in Beverly Hills Office. After completing her degree next year, Claire hopes to pursue a career in investing. In her free time, Claire enjoys travelling, cooking and watching movies.
Patrick O’Toole is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Patrick has served on the Funding Board of Residential Student Government, and has been a member of the Trojan Investing Society. Patrick interned at Hanmi Bank last summer, and has previously interned at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Additionally, Patrick is looking forward to interning at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Technology and Global Industrials Wholesale Credit group in San Francisco this summer. Originally from Tri-Cities, WA, Patrick enjoys playing basketball, watching baseball and hockey, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
Levi Posen is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Levi has belonged to both Alpha Kappa Psi & Sigma Nu Fraternities while also being a member of The Trojan Investing Society. Levi has previously interned at AdvicePeriod, a fin-tech wealth management firm, and is excited to continue growing his experience in asset management as an intern at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles this summer. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Levi enjoys the outdoors, trying new foods, reading books, and playing golf.
Viren Rupani is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and a B.S. in Mathematics at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. At USC, Viren serves as the President of the Value Investing Group and has served as the Chief Technology Officer of the Trojan Investing Society. In the past, he has interned at Sunrise Securities, a middle-market investment bank in New York and looks forward to joining MidCap Financial, Apollo Global Management’s middle market credit platform, as a part of their financial sponsors’ team in Los Angeles. In his free time, Viren enjoys reading books, learning more about sport cars and cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers at their basketball games.
Terek Rutherford is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and a minor in Thematic Studies from the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. While at USC, Terek has served as Co-President of the Trojan Investing Society, Marshall’s largest student organization, which focuses on investment banking. He has also served as lead strategist for the Trojan Consulting Group, providing consulting services to large, for-profit clients across the U.S. He has also been a member of the Value Investing Group, USC Stamps Leadership Scholars, and Levan Scholars. Terek’s professional experience includes working as an analyst for Alaska Venture Partners and as an analyst for Janus Henderson’s Global Fixed Income Team. Originally from Alaska, Terek enjoys hiking, tennis, and skiing.
Avik Wadwa is currently pursuing a B.S. in Math/Economics at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. While at USC, Avik has been actively involved with the Value Investing Group, which prepares stock pitches that are used to compete in national competitions. He has also served as the Director of Client Services for the USC Consulting Club, through which he has provided pro-bono consulting services to Mira Labs and Maven. Avik has previously interned in Ovum's London office, where he analyzed market research trends in the financial technology industry. He has also worked in the Silicon Valley Bank's Risk management group, helping the firm put together its annual Stress Test report. This coming summer he will be interning for Stifel as an Investment Banking Analyst.
Wray (Rui) Wang
Wray (Rui) Wang is currently pursuing World Bachelors in Business (WBB), a triple-degree international business program at the USC Marshall School of Business, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and L'Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. Wray is actively involved on each campus, as the External Vice Chairperson at Greater China Vision, the Head of Outreach at Investment Circle, and a founding member of Dodo Studio. Wray previously interned at Harvest Global Investments, an asset manager with $110 bn AUM. He is looking forward to working at the Boston Consulting Group this summer in Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) practice. In his free time, Wray enjoys traveling and has visited 40+ countries across 7 continents.
Aimee Xu is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics. Outside of her academic pursuits, Aimee founded the USC Chapter of Smart Woman Securities, through which she strives to encourage other Trojan women to pursue careers within finance. Additionally, she led Smart Woman Securities’ annual trip to meet with Warren Buffett and visit Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha, Nebraska. Aimee is also a member of the Trojan Investing Society and Los Angeles Community Impact. Aimee previously interned with CriticalPoint Partners, a boutique investment bank in Los Angeles. In her free time, Aimee enjoys playing the cello, photographing landscapes and exploring the local food scene.
