In the 1980s, academic leaders at the Marshall School inaugurated a revolutionary new curriculum. Recognizing that real-world business challenges and opportunities aren’t divided into tidy academic silos, but rather touch many if not all of the functions of the organization, Marshall’s leaders designed a curriculum framed around these thematic challenges and opportunities.
This revolutionary curriculum remains unique among business schools, in part because it’s unusually challenging to deliver, as it requires faculty to work across academic disciplines, and it requires us to bring at least two faculty to every GEMBA session. But the benefits of such a curriculum more than compensate for the challenges of delivering it, as has been proven over these recent decades by the testimonies and career achievements of thousands of program graduates.
