Leventhal alumni, donors, and friends were invited to campus to join the Leventhal community for an evening of networking and celebration on Nov. 10 at Town and Gown. Leventhal Celebration 2022 honored scholarship recipients and donors, and highlighted the impact that Leventhal is making on the accounting community, while raising funds for student scholarships through a silent auction.

Deloitte US CEO Joe Allanson, chair of the Leventhal Board of Advisors, introduced the event, which featured remarks from Jim Parks ’72, MBT ’75, executive director of CBIZ MHM, LLC Tax and Advisory Business Services (CBIZ) whose generous gift in 2015 named the Jennifer and James R. Parks Master of Business Taxation Program, endowed the Jennifer and James R. Parks Chair of Taxation for the MBT program director, and supported the accounting building renovation, scholarships, and other academic priorities. Board member Eduardo Jordan also shared remarks.

DEAN BILL HOLDER gave an inspiring perspective on the year in review, which was followed by a scholarship video. Of the more than 45 scholarships presented this year, a majority were granted to multiple students. Leventhal student Grace Oh ’23, a recipient of the A. N. Mosich EndowedScholarship, established in honor of beloved professor Andy Mosich, spoke during the event. Oh was introduced by Shirley Maxey, associate vice dean of academic affairs and professor of clinical accounting.

The program concluded with a performance by the SOCAL VOCALS
