The Graduate Certificate in Optimization and Supply Chain Management requires 15 total units for completion; this includes 9 units of elective AND 6 units of required coursework as follows:

DSO 565 Supply Chain Analytics (3 units) OR DSO 581 Supply Chain Management (3 units) OR DSO 505 Sustainability Supply Chains (1.5 units) and DSO 506 Sourcing and Supplier Management (1.5 units)

DSO 547 Spreadsheet Modeling for Business Insights (3 units) OR DSO 570 The Analytics Edge: Data, Models, and Effective Decisions (3 units) OR ISE 530 Optimization Methods for Analytics (4 units)

Some DSO-599courses may count towards the elective requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Optimization and Supply Chain Management. Please contact the Certificate office for more information on whether you may substitute your DSO-599course into your program.

Yes, only current USC students may apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate program. ‘Current USC students’ are defined as currently enrolled in a Masters or Doctoral degree at USC.

The Graduate Certificate in Optimization and Supply Chain Management is 15 units in total. Students can expect to complete the program within a timeline of one to four semesters, depending on the students’ desired pace. Most students studying full-time will complete the program within one to two semesters.

However, students should note that the Graduate Certificate MUST be completed during or prior to the semester in which they graduate from their primary graduate program at USC.

Certificate students are encouraged to join graduate student clubs and organizations in their field of interest.
