Professor Espinosa brings over 15 years of industry experience in investment management and economic research. Prior to joining USC, he served as an investment research executive at PIMCO in Newport Beach, where he acted as a bridge between fundamental and quantitative research. His work focused on economic analysis, equity valuation, corporate finance, and financial statement analysis to generate investment ideas for PIMCO’s equity and quantitative strategies.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, Professor Espinosa has held academic appointments at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, the University of California, Berkeley, and, most recently, Chapman University.
He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of California, Berkeley. He also earned a Master’s in Financial Economics and a Bachelor’s in Business and Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
