Peter Carnevale studies negotiation and mediation of disputes in a variety of settings including organizations, labor-management relations, real-estate transactions, community dispute resolution, and international relations. His research – both laboratory experiments and field studies -- has been published in leading academic journals including Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychological Science, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. His work is often supported by grants from the National Science Foundation. He has served as Chair of the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management. The International Association for Conflict Management recognized him with the Jeffrey Z. Rubin Theory-To-Practice Award, which is given every two years to a scholar who has made a significant impact on theory and practice of negotiation.
