What made you choose to attend USC Marshall?
When I began looking at universities I was immediately impressed by the strength of the Trojan Family. Our community is designed to help students succeed during and after college. I wanted to be part of a community that would be present for the rest of my life, and I am happy that I found that at USC. Marshall has incredible study abroad programs and I knew that I wanted an opportunity to travel. One of the best programs is called LINC (Learning about International Commerce) which is for first-year business students to gain exposure to business practices outside the U.S. Also, nothing beats LA weather!
Advice you wish you had known while applying to college:
I would definitely suggest visiting the school and getting a sense of the culture. Make sure that you feel at home on campus and around the student population. Applying to colleges can be very overwhelming so be sure to trust yourself and know that you will end up where you need to be. Also, look at the four-year course plan and see if you would enjoy the classes that you would be taking in your first two years. It is also important to identify the resources at the school, for example the USC career center is very helpful in guiding students through the recruiting process.
USC activities/general hobbies:
Exploring LA, Running, Hiking, Bike Riding, Operations Management Association, Traveling, Going to Manhattan Beach.
Why do you love Los Angeles?
I really like the diversity and the fact that there is always something to do! There are so many different areas with different cultures and the amount of history is incredible. Coming from Arizona I have learned to love the beaches and the weather. Also, there are always opportunities to try new food.
What global experiences have you had in college?
My LINC trip to Tokyo was incredible, I got to meet the CEO of Coca-Cola Japan and visited Toyota, Sony, Costco and more. I also went to an EXCEL trip to Milan, Italy to explore businesses in the fashion industry.
What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at Marshall?
I did three summer internships with EY and I will be doing consulting after graduation.
