Kathy Takayama always wanted to teach. That dream started immediately out of college when she was recruited to be a US Naval Nuclear Power School Instructor, where she trained enlisted and officer students on how to operate nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers. She transitioned out of the military into a career in program management, initially at a large corporate bank running IT programs, and later as an R&D program manager at Hewlett Packard, eventually taking on roles as Chief of Staff and Operations Officer for a large business unit. Today, she is living her dream, sharing decades of business experiences with future business leaders at the USC Marshall School of Business.
