Engin Kose

  • Adjunct Professor of Finance and Business Economics

Engin is a Director in the Research Group and a member ofthe CIO committee at Rayliant Global Advisors. He contributes towards overallquantitative research, fundamental analysis, asset allocation and portfoliostrategies, collaborating with the broad Rayliant team.

Previously, Enginwas the Associate Portfolio Manager in Allianz Global Investors. He worked on systematicequity strategies within Emerging Markets, International Small-Cap, High YieldUS Large-Cap and Global Minimum Variance. During his tenure in AGI, heaccumulated extensive alpha research insights for behavioral, intrinsic andsentiment related stock selection signals along with portfolio managementexperience in a quantitative framework with fundamental overlay methods.

Prior to that, Engin was the Vice President of EquityResearch in Research Affiliates, where his focus was on static and dynamicmultifactor strategies with factor timing insights. Engin also had numerousresearch papers published in top finance journals. He is a Graham and Dodd BestPaper award holder. Engin also serves as a Lecturer in UC San Diego, RadySchool of Management, where he teaches a Master of Finance Course in AssetManagement.

Engin received a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Mathematicsand Economics from McGill University with Joint Honors designation in these twodisciplines. He earned his PhD in finance from Washington University in St.Louis, where he focused on stock return anomalies in his dissertation.
