Institution: Quinnipiac University
I grew up in Easton, Connecticut and attended Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT for my undergraduate degree in accounting. I stayed close to home for my college experience, so I was ready for a change as graduation approached. The decision to move across the country and attend graduate school at the University of Southern California was intimidating because I knew hardly anyone in Los Angeles or on the west coast; however, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I wanted to have the opportunity to spend my last year, before starting work as an audit assistant at Deloitte, meeting new people, hearing different perspectives, being challenged in the classroom, and growing as an individual. From the very first day of the MAcc program I have felt welcomed and included. It is a very close-knit group of students, which provides a great atmosphere for learning and collaborating. The program also has top-notch faculty and incorporates real-life events and interactive case studies into class discussion. This is extremely valuable in gaining a well-rounded understanding of the business environment today. The weather definitely didn’t deter me from moving to California either. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have as you make your decision Fight on!
