Carmen is a doctoral candidate in accounting at the University of Southern California's Leventhal School of Accounting. Before joining USC, Carmen earned her B.S. in Accounting from BYU (summa cum laude), where she also completed the school's Accounting Ph.D. Prep Program. She then went on to earn her Master of Accounting from Florida State University. Her research examines the intersection of accounting disclosure and capital markets, mainly focusing on firm financial disclosure and mandatory investor disclosure. Outside of research, Carmen enjoys reading, hiking, rock climbing, playing volleyball, and anything else she can do outdoors.
