What made you choose to attend USC Marshall?
When selecting universities to apply to transfer to, USC was always number one on my list. I wanted to attend a university I truly felt I belonged in, and I knew the Trojan Family was a place I could so. I specifically applied to the Marshall School of Business program for the niche community it creates within the Trojan Family. The bond and tight-knit network that Marshall students share was something I did not experience at my previous university and strived to find. I also chose to attend USC Marshall for the hands-on learning experiences that is implemented into all of our courses. We are able to learn from outstanding professors, but also have the chance to apply this knowledge to real-life situations that prepare you for your future career.
What advice do you wish you had known while applying to college?
One thing that I truly wish I knew while applying for college the first time around was to be decisive about choosing which schools to apply to. I wish I researched more on the schools that interested me to ensure it would be a good fit. Also, I would recommend visiting your top choice universities because you can never get a true insight on campus life until you are there. I would also suggest reaching out to current students and inquire about academics, organizations, and their social life to get a glimpse into what your future life could look like. Finding the best fit university for you is the number one priority in this process. There is one out there for everyone!

Why do you love Los Angeles?
Being born and raised in Hawaii, I knew I wanted to maintain my year-long summer weather and Los Angeles gives me just that! LA also provides me with an infinite amount of things to do. There is always a wide range of events such as concerts, food festivals, professional sporting events, and theme parks! I also love LA for the great amount of diversity. You can experience so many different cultures in just one city!
What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at Marshall?
During my first semester after transferring, I was able to utilize the Marshall Career Center and participate in on-campus recruiting. This allowed me to come into contact with many recruiters from a wide range of companies. Due to these resources, I was able to secure my summer internship at Deloitte working as an Audit and Assurance Intern after my junior year. I will be returning to Deloitte full-time upon graduation.
