What surprised you most about Marshall?
What most surprised me about Marshall was the way my class supports and encourage one another. I expected the community to be close, but the way we cheer each other on and offer to help however we can was not an expectation of mine - at least to the extent that it has been. My peers have connected me with their network, offered study sessions during their free time, among other things. Collaborative ambition is a true value we live everyday.
What do you wish you'd known before attending business school?
I wish I had known just how difficult it would be easing back into school life after working for years. I took for granted the time I had between quitting work and starting school. I wish I took more time to mentally and emotionally prepare for the experience. Rest is important.
What leadership positions do you hold at Marshall?
AVP of Marketing - Business of Entertainment Association, Chief of Staff - Black Graduate Business Leaders, AVP of Team Primetime - Challenge 4 Charity, Marshall MBA Ambassador
What is your favorite USC Marshall experience:
My favorite USC Marshall experience so far was the International Mixer. It was a great time to experience and celebrate our classmates' culture through food.
What is your favorite USC Marshall core class:
Contemporary Issues in Competitive Strategy
Which clubs are you involved in?
Business of Entertainment Association, Black Graduate Business Leaders, Challenge 4 Charity, Graduate Marketing Association, Latino Management & Business Association
Why did you choose Marshall?
I chose Marshall, because I saw my village here. When I came to visit, I observed how close knit the community was. I could see myself flourishing in that kind of community, and Marshall has lived up to that expectation.
