What made you choose to attend USC Marshall?
I fell in love with USC and Marshall for many reasons, a few being the location, the variety of opportunities, and the Trojan Family. I love that USC is in Los Angeles because there are always opportunities to explore the area. Marshall is an amazing business school and I was confident that I would receive an extremely well-rounded education. Marshall offers its students so many unique experiences from internships and employment to global experiences, and its students are also extremely involved on campus in organizations outside of classes. In addition, it was really important to me that my business school had a collaborative environment, and Marshall has exactly that. One of the strongest characteristics of USC that I love is the Trojan Family because it truly gives you an incredible community to be a part of and you will build so many lasting connections within it. Ultimately, when I visited USC, I saw an ideal college experience and felt that I belonged.

Advice you wish you had known while applying to college:
My biggest piece of advice to students applying for college is to make sure that you visit the school and really try to picture yourself living there, attending classes, and being a part of that community. I think that the most helpful way to learn about a school is through the current students so when you visit a school really make an effort to talk to as many current students as you can to get their opinion on their experiences. In addition, try not to focus too much on rankings between the different schools because it is really about where you will be happiest and have the best opportunities for yourself. Overall, when choosing your school, really think about where you feel you belong and which school is the best fit for you.

USC activities/general hobbies:
USC activities: Marshall Student Ambassador, Trojan Investing Society, Accounting Society, Trojan Tennis Club Tournament Team, Delta Delta Delta Sorority
General Hobbies: Tennis, waterskiing, hiking, wakesurfing, biking

Why do you love Los Angeles?
I love Los Angeles because it is such a fun city to live in and there is always so much going on. From going to the beach to concerts, hiking, and much more, there are constantly opportunities to explore the city. This is one of the reasons I fell in love with USC because there are always things to do, chances to explore new interests, and new adventures to take part in.

What global experiences have you had in college?
I participated in the Global Leadership Program during my freshman year. Through this class, we went to China over spring break and spent half of the time in Shanghai and half of the time in Beijing. Additionally, I will be studying abroad in Copenhagen in the Spring.

What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at Marshall?
Opportunities through Marshall and Leventhal have definitely helped me throughout the recruiting process. This past summer, I interned in Corporate Banking at Wells Fargo. Networking events through the career center that took place on campus allowed me to meet professionals from Wells Fargo and learn about this internship opportunity. Additionally, I will be interning in audit at Deloitte next summer. My classes in Marshall and Leventhal were extremely helpful in connecting me to the Big 4 accounting firms. Recruiters came to each of my accounting classes at least once a semester, and USC also had “Meet the Firms” once a semester. Overall, Marshall and Leventhal gave me many opportunities to connect with the firms and ultimately receive an offer for next summer.
