Karine Kim

Karine Kim is director of communications at USC Marshall. In her role, Kim integrates the efforts of editorial, PR, social, and creative branding teams to develop an integrated communications approach that supports the school's overarching priorities.

Prior to Marshall, Kim was assistant dean of communications at USC Iovine and Young Academy which was founded by legendary music entrepreneurs Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. In this role, she oversaw the academy's strategic communications and marketing. During her tenure, the school gained national recognition for its interdisciplinary curriculum and is a hub for innovative thinking and future-focused collaboration between academia and leading companies. 

Kim is a seasoned communication expert with 15+ years of experience specializing in corporate communications, editorial, public relations, social media and content marketing. With a master's degree in journalism, Kim combines critical thinking, compelling storytelling, and creative branding to amplify the brand reputation of organizations across various sectors such as higher education, technology, health, and the arts.
