Avni Shah

Avni is an expert communicator and writer with 15 years of experience in strategic content creation. Before joining the Greif Center and Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab, Avni developed articles, videos and podcasts for USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Prior to this, she supported a series of organizations in the non-profit and startup spaces in creating brand identity and awareness, and engaging and activating new and existing stakeholders. She worked for nearly a decade as a Senior Communications Specialist for Karama, a women’s rights organization focusing on advocacy in the Arab region. Avni has written pieces for the LA Times, InStyle, Salon, Huffington Post, The Guardian, USC News, Trojan Family Magazine, and Viterbi Magazine. The daughter of immigrants and a volunteer for Write Girl and Young Storytellers, she is also a fiction writer focusing on themes of culture, identity and belonging.
