Eric Yuan

Marshall Dean Geoff Garrett talked with Eric Yuan, the CEO and founder of Zoom, the video platform that has seen astronomical growth during the pandemic, and that now powers workplaces, universities and schools across the world, Monday, Oct. 26, 2020.

The latest Dean's Dialogue took place over Zoom.

Dean Garrett made note of that fact to start the discussion. “Eric, we’re about to have a dialogue about Zoom, delivered around the world via Zoom, in what is, in many ways, the year of Zoom," he said. "It is the ultimate compliment when your company becomes a verb."

The conversation covered topics such as the importance of lifelong learning, the value of customer feedback, and what the post-COVID world will look like for Zoom. Yuan was also presented with the USC Marshall Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies' Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

“This is such a great honor,” said Yuan. “Thank you.”
