The 41st International Business Education and Research (IBEAR) MBA cohort turned its tassels Thursday, July 11, 2019, in a ceremony held at Town & Gown on the University Park Campus.
Some 56 graduates celebrated with their families and friends, along with Marshall faculty and IBEAR staff.
“We are so very proud of the graduates of this truly international class,” said Suh-Pyng Ku, Vice Dean for Graduate Programs and professor of clinical finance and business economics. “We are proud to call them part of the Marshall Trojan family.”
The commencement speaker was the Honorable Masagos Zulkifli '95, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Republic of Singapore.
The class speaker was Donghoon Lee from LG Electronics.
Graduates of the 41st IBEAR MBA class join more than 1,800 IBEAR alumni from 60 nations. The one-year, full-time MBA program for mid-career professionals sets the standard for international business executive education, and is at the forefront of global business education.
A reception and dinner for graduates and their families followed the ceremony,
The Commencement was an integral part of the 2019 IBEAR Business Forum, which attracted 120 participants from 26 IBEAR Classes.
“The fact that 25 alumni speakers from 20 IBEAR classes would invest their time and incur substantial travel expenses to come to USC to inspire and inform the graduating I-41 Class and the incoming I-42 Class clearly illustrates the strength of the IBEAR Family,” said IBEAR Director Richard Drobnick. Speakers came from classes ranging from IBEAR-10 to IBEAR-40; half flew in from outside of California: Boston, Jakarta, Kentucky, Madrid, Nanjing, New York (2), Seattle, Seoul, Singapore (2), and Tokyo.
