USC Marshall “hoods” 12 New Scholars from Across Departments

The USC Marshall School of Business officially "hooded" 12 new scholars Thursday, May 11 in a family ceremony held in Popovich Hall.  Ph.D. students from the departments of Finance and Business Economics, Data Sciences and Operations, Marketing, Management and Organization as well as the Leventhal School of Accounting officially earned their doctoral degrees.

Most of the Ph.D. class of 2017 will enter academia as assistant professors at institutes of higher learning including MIT, Texas Tech, McGill University and the National University of Singapore.

"We are extremely proud of our PH.D. students, and we look forward to future collaboration with them as they push the boundaries of business scholarship," said Gareth James, Vice Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs, E. Morgan Stanley Chair in Business Administration and professor of data sciences and operations
