Fabian Flatz holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and a law degree from the University of Vienna, both in Austria. Following graduation, he worked initially as a Junior Associate at Baker McKenzie and as an in-house counsel at a large telecommunications company, now part of T-Mobile, where he specialized in IT and data protection law. He worked for several startups in London, his last role as Head of Operations at a startup that provided software for Venture Capital firms. This summer Fabian will be interning for a Venture Capital firm, Fin Capital. He is passionate about technology and startups, has made several angel investments and co-founded a fintech startup, Telleroo. In his spare time, Fabian enjoys hiking, mixing cocktails, traveling, and learning about history and languages.
Karan Kamboj graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Economics. Afterwards, he remained at NYU to complete a professional doctorate in dental surgery. Prior to attending USC Marshall, he was a licensed dentist, and given his longstanding interest in business, he founded a practice where he operated for several years. Karan’s fascination with investing dates back to his university days when he first learned of George Soros, Stanley Druckenmiller and their pound sterling trade. Since then, he has been captivated by the public markets and has allocated the majority of his leisure time to studying them. His current hobbies include running, playing tennis and following developments in the technology and healthcare sectors.
Yifan (Anna) Ma
Yifan (Anna) Ma graduated from Nankai University in 2012 with a B.S. in Corporate Finance. She also holds a Master of Finance from Nankai University. After college, Anna spent two years in a commodity trading company as a futures trader where she developed and implemented arbitrage strategies in global commodity exchange markets. She then pivoted to an equity analyst focusing on the healthcare sector for four years at a family office, where she initiated $10 million public equity investments. She also served as a board member for three healthcare start-ups, providing strategic recommendations and crucial resources to support their development. In her spare time, she loves to brew coffee, do Ashtanga Yoga, and surf.
Hector earned a JD from Harvard Law School and a Triple Major in Philosophy, Political Science, and Psychology, from Cal State Fullerton. He provided legal advocacy for indigent clients at the Criminal Justice Institute, served as Chief Counsel for the Vice-Mayor of Cambridge, and worked for a Boston based venture capital firm. Prior to attending USC Marshall, Hector was Associate Director of the Training and Recruitment Initiative for Admission to Leading Law Schools program (TRIALS), teaching future lawyers at Harvard Law and NYU Law. At Princeton, he worked with aspiring students through the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA). Hector enjoys pushing his body through martial arts and weightlifting, as well as expanding his mind through graphic novels, science fiction, and video games.
