Chris Dong graduated from East China Normal University in 2006 with a B.A. in English. He also has his Masters in Comparative Literature from Warwick University and an MSc in Accounting from the University of Birmingham. Prior to attending USC Marshall, he worked as a commercial banker at HSBC. His favorite investing book is Security Analysis and hopes to build on his financial skillset in business school. In his spare time, Michael enjoys reading, writing short stories and spending time with family.
Rachel (Chae Ri) Jung graduated from Yonsei University in Korea with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Prior to attending USC Marshall, Rachel worked as a process engineer at GS Engineering & Construction Corp., where she designed oil & gas refineries. She also led an investment project team to build a petrochemical complex in Uzbekistan. Beyond the traditional energy industry, Rachel desires to contribute to building a sustainable society. This summer, Rachel will be an EDF (Environmental Defense Fund) Climate Change Corp. Fellow. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with his husband, as well as exploring the outdoors with her classmates.
Matthew Schladen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Looking to build his skillset in valuation and analysis, Matthew returned to school at Marshall from his role as a project manager at Arcadia Inc. At the age of 11, Matthew began investing a portion of his college savings and continues to actively manage his own portfolio today. He has a strong interest in financial risk management and behavioral economics, Matthew is looking to set the groundwork for a future fund of his own.
