Matthew J. Hill received his PhD in 2012 from UCLA. Since then, he has worked at a think tank, advised startups, taught economics and conducted research. His work has been published in several prestigious journals including Health Economics, Labour Economics and the Journal of Economic History. Broadly, his research interests include Economic History, Urban Economics and the Economics of Education. Before joining USC, he was on the faculty at Loyola Marymount.
