João Ramos studies Economic Theory. He is particularly interested in information economics (the analysis of the strategic decisions of agents to acquire, share, and use information) and in how information asymmetries affect incentives.

His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, and The Economic Journal. Additionally, accounts of his work have appeared in popular media and business outlets.
