AJ Ogilvie

AJ joined the Marshall School of Business in 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Business Communication. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to teaching, innovation, service, and scholarship.

During his time at Marshall, AJ has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and curriculum innovation. He developed BUAD 105: The Marshall Experience and BUCO 499: Strategic Communication in ESG, earned a USC Dornsife Teaching and Writing Award, Golden Apple Award, Excellence in Teaching Award, RTPC Summer Externship, and was recognized by the Dean for exemplary performance and contribution. He successfully served as the core course coordinator for WRIT 340: Advanced Writing for Business as well as on the Marshall Faculty Council. He has also been leading the consulting project class (BSGA552) in the full-time MBA core curriculum for the last several years, helping to recruit companies and overseeing faculty directing the individual projects.

Professor Ogilvie brings industry experience to his leadership and teaching, having worked in strategic communications at Booz Allen Hamilton as well as in marketing director roles for the industrial renewables firm Martifer Solar and the Jerde Partnership, a global architecture firm. Additionally, he has provided communication consulting to companies like Accenture and SoCal Gas, and has worked as a strategist for ProWritingAid, an AI-writing platform based in the UK.
