  • Laboratory Coordinator

As the coordinator of the Marshall Behavioral Research Lab under the Office of the Associate Vice Dean of Research, Brian ensures that this interdisciplinary center effectively supports and facilitates high-quality behavioral science research. The lab provides both on-site and virtual spaces for faculty and Ph.D. candidates to conduct academic studies on human decision-making and behavior, spanning fields such as consumer and organizational behavior, neuroeconomics, and data sciences. Under Brian's management, the lab aims to contribute to the understanding of human decision-making processes, with a focus on real-world applications in business practices, public policy, and society, thereby meeting the diverse research needs of scholars in these crucial areas.

Under Brian's direction, the lab supports a wide range of research activities, offering study support programs that enable Marshall researchers to conduct their work effectively, whether in-person, online, or in the field. This support extends to advanced technological resources, essential for capturing nuanced data on human behavior. In addition to Brian's oversight of lab operations, he manages the Research and Instructional Student Assistant Pools, ensuring faculty have access to valuable support for both research endeavors and teaching responsibilities. Through these diverse functions, the lab contributes significantly to creating an environment conducive to high-quality research and academic excellence.

A key aspect of Brian's role is providing guidance throughout the research process. This encompasses assistance with study design, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis. The lab manages various subject pools and panels for research participation and handles human subjects compensation. Additionally, it ensures that all research conducted complies with Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and Office of Research Integrity certifications.

Brian brings experience to his position, having conducted research at Columbia Business School's Center for Decision Sciences, Harvard Business School, and Chicago Booth. He holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Harvard University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Applied Psychology, focusing on Human Factors in Aviation, at USC.
