Where is the Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship application available?

Do I need to be eligible for financial aid to apply?

No, students do not need to be financial aid-eligible to apply for a Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship.

Am I eligible for a Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship if I am an international student?

Yes, international students are eligible to apply for the awards.

Am I able to apply if I am currently a USC Trustee Scholar?

No, because Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship funds may only be used for tuition, Trustee Scholars are not eligible to apply.

Is there a GPA requirement to apply?

Although awards require a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above, students with an overall GPA between 3.3 – 3.5 or higher are generally most competitive for these awards. If this spring is your first semester of enrollment at USC, you are eligible to submit an application; however, you must earn a minimum cumulative USC GPA of 3.0 or above to be considered further for a scholarship.

If I received a Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship last year, do I need to re-apply this year?

Yes, all previous recipients are required to re-apply each year. Awards are one-time, non-recurring opportunities that are not automatically renewable from year-to-year.

When and how will I be notified of the scholarship decision?

Students who have been selected to receive a scholarship award will be notified in late summer. If chosen as a scholarship recipient, disbursement of the award(s) to a student’s account will occur upon receipt of a thank you letter for your scholarship's donor.

How is a scholarship application evaluated?

The Undergraduate Scholarship Committee will evaluate each student’s overall application and determine awards based on criteria such as academic merit, extracurricular involvement, accomplishments and awards, academic and career goals, work experience, and/or financial need. Individual awards will vary depending on your financial aid package and/or the number of qualified applicants. Please note that the receipt of award funds may alter allocation of other funds within your financial aid package (if applicable).

I am a student in the World Bachelors in Business (WBB) major. Am I eligible to apply?

Students who are in their fourth year of study and returning to USC may apply for Marshall continuing student scholarship awards. Students who are not in their fourth year of study and returning to USC are not eligible to receive these scholarships. Students who are in their fourth year of study, but who are not returning to USC for the final year of study are not eligible to receive these scholarships.

Am I eligible to apply if I will be graduating in December 2024?

No, students must be enrolled as a full-time (12 or more enrolled academic units) undergraduate units in both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, and remain as a major in the Marshall School of Business for the duration of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Will I remain eligible for my received scholarship if I decide to go part-time in Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025?

No, students must be enrolled in 12 or more undergraduate academic units (full-time) in both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 and remain as a major in the Marshall School of Business for the duration of the 2024-2025 academic year. Failure to meet these requirements in either Fall or Spring will result in a student's  Marshall Continuing Student Scholarship award being retroactively rescinded.

Can my scholarship be applied to summer?

No, scholarships can only be applied for the Fall and Spring semesters of the school year in which the award was given. Students must be enrolled in 12 or more undergraduate academic units (full-time) in both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.
