University of Southern California


Designed to offer a comprehensive foundation in finance and flexibility to pursue individual interests, the curriculum for the Master of Science in Finance includes 36 units, consisting of nine required courses and three elective courses. All courses are taught on the University of Southern California campus by the Marshall School of Business faculty— award-winning teachers, scholars and practitioners.

Core courses cover accounting, economics, finance and statistics. Students will learn linear algebra and probability theory and use Stata and Matlab programming languages. The foundation is supplemented with courses on the role of finance in corporations, investment analysis and portfolio theory, and forecasting and risk.

A flexible curriculum allows students to personalize their degree with elective courses in areas such as real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and hedge funds.
