Master of Business Taxation - Working Professionals
The Master of Business Taxation - Working Professionals program is our evening MBT program designed for students who wish to remain fully employed while pursuing their graduate studies.
This program is identical to the successful 30-unit MBT Full-time curriculum. The first 15 units are comprised of core courses that provide a solid foundation in all major areas of taxation. In addition to the core curriculum, students choose 15 units from the approved list of graduate business courses, of which nine units must be tax courses.
The Advantage
Identical Curriculum
Upon completion of the MBT-Working Professionals program, you will have earned the same degree as is offered through the Full-time program.
Evening Classes
Each course in the MBT-Working Professionals program is held one night a week from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. No weekend or Friday courses are offered. We believe it's easier to fit in an extra three hours of class at the end of a busy day than it is to give up all or part of a weekend.
Flexible Learning Options
A handful of courses each semester are taught in the Marshall School of Business Capture Room. Classes in the Capture Room are video/audio recorded to allow for viewing at the workplace or home. Additionally, some courses are video conferenced live at the USCOrange County Center in Irvine. The Flexible Learning Options are designed to allow students to attend class in-person in Los Angeles or at the Orange County Center, and to be able to watch recorded lectures at home.
Please note, while we believe that MBT-WP students benefit from additional flexibility in course attendance, the program is not designed to be completed exclusively via distance/online education.Flexible Pace
The MBT-Working Professionals program takes an average of 2 & 1/2 years to complete. Most students take one or two courses in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. However, we understand that work demands fluctuate, and you are allowed up to 5 years to complete your degree.
NEW for 2013:
