Marshall Vance's research focuses on the design and performance consequences of compensation and performance measurement systems and the role of internal and public accounting reports in contracting. His dissertation, Deferred Compensation Plan Characteristics and Voluntary Employee Turnover, focuses on the effects of deferred compensation plan characteristics on voluntary turnover decisions using detailed personnel data on store-level employees of a large retail firm.
