Student Organizations
SBI Executive Director David Carter oversees two very active student-led sports business clubs. The Marshall Sports Business Organization (MSBO) and Sports Business Association (SBA), which serve the graduate and undergraduate student populations respectively, are designed to educate their members about the numerous facets of the industry.
MSBO
The MSBO brings together students who are interested in all functions (i.e. marketing, finance, operations, digital media, etc) within the sports industry. Our goals include:
The MSBO applies a broad definition to sports careers, including working for professional and college teams, marketing firms, equipment manufacturers, and consumer products companies... the possibilities are endless.
USC's location in the heart of Southern California, arguably the geographic center of the sports business world, allows MSBO members to have unique access to elite sports business professionals in various related fields, including professional and collegiate team sports, television networks, entertainment agencies and sports marketing firms.
The MSBO works closely with Marshall's Sports Business Institute, along with the entertainment and consulting-related clubs at Marshall, to ensure that all opportunities for involvement in the sports industry are fully explored.
SBA
The USC Sports Business Association is dedicated to providing students of all majors the opportunity to experience the world of sports-business. SBA provides for its members in two broad categories: education and networking.
