The Program

The Strategic Management for Competitive Advantage course will equip you with critical thinking skills that lead you through the process of devising, managing and implementing strategies that provide an advantage over your competition. This program will present the core areas of strategy and develop skills for translating strategic tactics in to real-world implementation. Participants will complete the program with an understanding of how to make revenue-generating decisions that lead to long term achievement.

The program is geared to business professionals seeking to develop their strategic mindset, managers in decision-making roles, leaders of organizations and teams trying to improve their competitive advantage.

Teaching Method

Through the use of case studies, current business articles, intensive interaction and experiential exercises, the faculty will lead you to focus on the key knowledge and skills you need to take an active role in managing a business. Participants also gain exposure to 'business like' situations and practice their management skills in a dynamic and participatory setting. The learning environment is supported by technologically advanced facilities, professional staff and highly innovative instructional methods and techniques.

Faculty

Kyle Mayer is Assistant Professor of Strategy in the Department of Management and Organizations at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. Dr. Mayer teaches in the university’s MBA and Ph.D. programs. His research has been published in Organizational Science, Academy of Management Journal, Management Science, and Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization. He received a Golden Apple Award in 2003, Marshall's Educator of the Year Award in 2006, and a Mellon Mentoring Award from USC in 2006.

Dr. Mayer completed his Ph.D. in Business and Public Policy in 1999 from the University of California, Berkeley and served on the editorial board of Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Review, and Strategic Management Journal.

Fee

$2,450 per person includes tuition, course materials and parking. There is a 10% discount for three or more registrants from the same company.
