CTM Fellows

Fellows at the Institute for Communication Technology Management support the mission of the Institute in a number of ways. Their support of CTM research and programs allow us to extend the reach of the Institute's thought leadership.

Melva Benoit, Founder and Principal, The Marian Dupree Group, LLC
Melva leads initiatives that deliver unique solutions to solve clients' problems and help them make decisions to grow their businesses.

Melva has a broad range of consumer-driven thought leadership experience and a knack for creating innovative solutions to solve challenging problems. As a senior media strategist, she led initiatives that informed and supported content creation, product strategy, marketing and advertising for major media, entertainment, and consumer brands including Disney, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, NBC, FOX and Nickelodeon.

Melva is highly regarded for being both intellectually curious and realistically pragmatic; cultivating and maintaining key stakeholder relationships; identifying talent, empowering teams; and driving a high-performance culture. She has held senior executive research positions in broadcast and cable television networks and digital.

Melva was included in the 2007 class of Broadcasting and Cable's Women to Watch. In 2012, she received the Next Generation Market Research Innovation Award in Thought Leadership for her work in Social Media Measurement.

Melva currently serves on the board of the USC CTM: Institute for Communication Technology and Management at the Marshall School of Business.



Rudy DeFelice, Serial entrepreneur, lawyer and investor based in Los Angeles.
Rudy's legal career focused on Corporate Restructuring at two large, international law firms in New York and Los Angeles. He led his first company, Practice Technologies, Inc., a Saas and enterprise software company, as CEO for 9 years, taking the company from conception to over 100 employees in two countries, raising over $11 million in funding and releasing five products. The company, which has since been sold, was named to the 'Inc. 5000' (fastest growing private companies in the United States).

Rudy is currently Chairman of Bizinate, Inc., which is focused on eCommerce solutions for individuals and retailers. He is an active angel investor and sits on the board of three technology companies. He is a Fund Advisor at Marwit Capital Partners, a mid-market Private Equity firm. Rudy is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law and completed the Advanced Management Program at The Harvard Business School.

He writes and speaks frequently on the subjects of technology, corporate transformation, customer engagement, consumer behavior and eCommerce. He is the author of The Pink Box Experience: How Talked About Companies Got That Way, an Amazon Best Seller on the subject of customer engagement and breakout growth. He has been interviewed on CNN, Fox Business News, ABC TV, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune and numerous media outlets and spoken on the TEDx stage.
