Los Angeles Times featured the FreeBike Project, a startup created by two USC alumni while they were studying at the university in 2011. The project provides free bikes for use on 23 campuses, including USC's, supported by advertising displayed on the bike frames. The students met in an entrepreneurship class by Lloyd Greif Center Co-Director Helena Yli-Renko. "They really bootstrapped it from their resources and connections," Yli-Renko said. Rex Kovacevich was quoted as well, noting that these Marshall alumni and one-time students "naturally have the DNA to be good entrepreneurs."
