Data Science and Operations

Andrew Daw, Vishal Gupta, and Paat Rusmevichientong had a paper accepted by INFORMS Transactions on Education titled, “Modeling First: Rethinking Undergraduate Operations Management with AI.”

Yingying Fan was elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Zijun Gao had a paper accepted by Transactions on Machine Learning Research (TMLR) titled, “Statistical Inference for Generative Model Comparison.”

Chamsi Hssaine had paper selected as a Best Paper Award Finalist at the ACM Sigmetrics 2026 Conference titled, “Sequential Fair Allocation With Replenishments: A Little Envy Goes An Exponentially Long Way.”

Alireza Kabirian, Inga Maslova, and Kristine Xie were awarded RTPC Professional Externships.

Mladen Kolar had a paper accepted by IEEE Transactions on Information Theory titled, “Simultaneous Inference for Covariance and Precision Matrices of Long-Range Dependent Time Series.”

Georgios Petropoulos co-organized the Digital Economy Workshop in Athens, Greece.

Greys Sošić was selected for a 2026 USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Faculty, Postdoctoral Scholars, Medical Residents, and Fellows.

Kabir Aladin Verchand had a paper accepted by SIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences titled, “Accurate, Provable and Fast Polychromatic Tomographic Reconstruction: A Variational Inequality Approach.”

Kabir Aladin Verchand had a paper accepted by the Annals of Statistics titled, “Estimation Beyond Missing (Completely) at Random.”

Management and Organization

Christian Busch and Cheryl Wakslak had a paper accepted in 2026 Academy of Management’s Best Paper Proceedings titled, “Collaborative Readiness and the Relational Foundations of Serendipity in Modern Workplaces.”

Christian Busch and Cheryl Wakslak had a paper accepted in 2026 Academy of Management’s Best Paper Proceedings titled, “Serendipity Propensity: Why Some Gain and Others Strain from the Unexpected.”

Nandini Rajagopalan was selected as a recipient of a USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Faculty, Postdoctoral Scholars, Medical Residents, and Fellows.

Marketing

Diane Badame was selected for an Inclusive Innovation Teaching mini grant for her Inclusive Marketing Leadership Podcast Ecosystem proposal.

Lars Perner received the Marketing Educator of the Year award from the Marketing Educators’ Association.

Kristen Schiele was appointed president of the Marketing Educators’ Association.

Kristen Schiele was selected as a recipient of the 2026 USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Students.

Stephanie Tully will serve as the Chair of the 2027 Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) Conference and of the 2027 Association for Consumer Research (ACR) Doctoral Symposium.

Stephanie Tully was a finalist for the Journal of Marketing Research’s (JMR) 2026 Weitz-Winer-O’Dell Award.

Stephanie Tully had a paper accepted by the Journal of Consumer Research titled, “Made with AI: Consumer Engagement with Social Media Containing AI Disclosures.”

Sha Yang was selected as a recipient of the 2026 USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Graduate Students.
